Investigator Ryan Waite of the New York State Police in Lowville was honored at the Victims Assistance Center’s 7th Annual Night of Heroes Masquerade Ball with the 2025 Hero of the Year Award. The event took place in Alexandria Bay and recognized individuals for outstanding service in protecting children.

Waite received the award for his “outstanding work and unwavering dedication to child abuse investigations,” as cited by the Victims Assistance Center’s Child Advocacy Center of Northern New York.
