Chattanooga, TN Police Officer Rescues Family From Fire

The community later learned through an online fundraising campaign that the Blaylock family lost their home and nearly all their personal property. The fundraiser revealed that the household smoke alarm failure occurred because the device did not go off during the incident. 

On May 28, the department hosted an emotional afternoon lineup assembly to honor the officer. Officer Rogers received the prestigious Meritorious Service Medal for his actions. The afternoon lineup quickly turned into a joyful celebration because the day also marked the birthday of young Charles. The precinct celebrated the special day with fresh donuts and a lively birthday song for the brave young survivor.
